Who says you can’t travel alone and fall in love? Well, maybe not with someone, but definitely on these places that I’m going to share with you.
February 14th, the most romantic day of the year is just around the corner as of writing. So, I thought why not make a list of my favorite places that I want to spend on this lovely day.
Let’s get right into my list.
1. Kyoto, Japan
Once the capital of Japan, this city is famous for its classical Buddhist temples, beautiful imperial palaces and gardens, and traditional wooden Japanese houses.
No wonder this is Japan’s greatest ancient city. Perfect for solo travelers who want to fall in love with Japanese culture, tradition, food, and nature.
Don’t forget to try the Japanese traditional dress kimono and have a selfie with a Geisha.
2. The Maldives
Consists of 1,192 coral islands, this small archipelagic nation is a very popular tourist destination, a piece of paradise on earth.
With its stunning white-sandy beaches and underwater garden, you don’t need a partner or someone to spend a luxurious holiday of a lifetime.
A dream trip that I don’t mind spending a few days or weeks alone and just be one with what wonders nature can offer.
3. Hoi An, Vietnam
This old town is considered a Unesco world heritage site since 1999 located in the central part of Vietnam.
Hoi An is definitely a lovely place to rediscover the past. Look back and enjoy a fusion of Asian architecture, exceptionally well-preserved houses, beautiful lanterns on the street and shops.
This centuries-old city is home to Vietnam’s best tailors where you can get an Ao Dai or a Vietnamese traditional dress.
4. Northern Lights, Iceland
Just imagine yourself lying on the ground gazing the night sky with the dancing lights right in front of your very eyes is definitely earth porn.
This is where we appreciate mother nature’s unconditional love in all of her succulent beauty.
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
One of the most popular destinations in Europe, welcoming more than 7 million tourists every year, this “Venice of the North” as they say is home to its lovely canals crisscrossing the city.
From impressive architecture to picturesque narrow streets, there’s so much personality and character that this city never fails to make someone fall in love.
6. Palawan, Philippines
With more than 7,100 islands, the Philippines has something to satisfy your wanderlust. But Palawan stands out among the rest.
One of the best islands in the world according to Conde Nast Traveler: The Best Islands in the World: 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards Stunning white-sandy beaches, clear blue water, and majestic stone formations are just some of the many attractions waiting for you to discover.
7. Chiang Mai, Thailand
A more peaceful and quiet city than Bangkok, Chiang Mai is also home to many well-preserved old temples and naturally beautiful surroundings.
This city is famous for its delicious food and night markets. A great place to indulge your taste buds to Thai’s bold flavors in its cuisine.
8. Santorini, Greece
Like a precious gem, this crescent-shaped group of islands is a perfect romantic gift that you can give to yourself.
The architecture of whitewashed buildings coupled with panoramic sunset is something hard to forget.
